How to crack NEXT exam in first attempt?
Winners begin early. Don’t wait to begin your NEXT exam preparation in the final year of MBBS. It has been seen that the students who get MBBS in good government medical colleges through NEET-UG (which has 4 subjects & 2 years syllabus of 11th & 12th standards), start studying for NEET-UG from 8th & 9th standards. Now, syllabus of NEXT consists of 19 subjects distributed over 4 years! It is obvious that to clear NEXT with high rank, you will have to start NEXT exam preparation from 1st year MBBS itself. It has been consistently seen in NEET-PG results that starting early is the single most important determinant of high rank in NEET-PG. The same will hold true for NEXT exam.
It is obvious from the pattern of NEXT that NEXT will have MCQs mainly from clinical subjects. The roots of these clinical subjects lie in pre- and para-clinical subjects taught during the first & second years of MBBS. Only 10% weightage in pattern of NEXT exam has been allotted to pre- & para-clinical subjects. But due to extensive overlapping of pre- & para-clinical subjects with the clinical subjects, not studying these 1st & 2nd years subjects NEXT point of view will increase the risk in NEXT results.
NEXT exam preparation
To start with, it is of utmost importance that you will realise that your MBBS degree will have extremely high value if you get a high rank in NEXT exam. With low rank in NEXT exam, you will not be able to give justice to your dreams.
The commonest reason why MBBS students don’t start NEXT exam preparation early is the illusion that they don’t have time. Students remain busy with their MBBS college studies & preparing for MBBS exams. Studying for NEXT exam will yield long term results & make sense of your MBBS studies. Studying for NEXT is not a diversion from MBBS studies. Rather early NEXT exam preparation will consolidate your MBBS preparation.
Is coaching necessary to crack NEXT?
MBBS students struggle to manage time as they have to study for college exams, prepare for presentations, complete journals, assignments, attend clinics and hospitals and the list is never ending.
